Code Geass R2 Ep 15

An exposition heavy episode where a son must face his father, C.C.’s true wish revealed, and……amnesia? Oh my!

So the episode begins where the previous one left off, i.e Lelouch facing off against his father. Resigning himself to be provoked by his dad (so as to not look at him directly in the eye and get geasspwned) he does the only logical thing one would do in such a sticky situation. Throw a firework of reflective surfaces so he can issue the ‘death sentence’ from behind cover and let physics take care of the rest.

And it worked like a charm!

And it worked like a charm!

As soon as the Emperor kills himself, we are greeted by happiness.

This is the face of victory...

This is the face of victory...

...and this is the face of persistence.

...and this is the face of persistence.

As we’re shown Suzaku getting bitch slapped by Kallen on the other side of the proverbial dimension, he proceeds to use Refrain on her so she spills the beans on Lelouch. However, he decides against it as he doesn’t want to stoop as low as Zero. Guess he’ll just have to find out the hard way.

Back to the destroyed Geass research facility, we’re shown C.C. confirming that V.V.’s ‘code’ aka immortality has been taken by Charles; which means Lelouch’s victory will be short lived. On cue, the camera cuts to Lelouch…

...lamenting not getting more answers out of his father before killing him...

...lamenting not getting more answers out of his father before killing him...

when suddenly…

...psyche!!

...psyche!!

After overcoming the momentary shock, Lelouch immediately tries to Geass his father into killing himself again, at which point Charles decides to wtfpwn his son.

Talk to the hand!

Talk to the hand!

This takes us into an inter-dimensional dimension within the dimension we were already in. Hereupon, Charles asks his son what has he gained from the power of Geass.

How much did you make?

How much did you make?

Lelouch fires back that he has already amassed an army, has new subordinates and already acquired territory. Charles rains on his parade by reminding Lelouch the Euphie and Shirley are dead, and that he’s almost lost Nunnally along with Suzaku (who is now his sworn enemy). Things start to look really bleak when suddenly C.C. comes to the rescue! This is the moment she decides to announce what she wishes from Lelouch…

)

...please kill me🙂

Lelouch hardly gets time to absorb what just happened when he is bailed out by C.C. into her memory. This means that Lelouch is now in a dimension (C.C.’s memories) that’s within the inter-dimension (Charles’s thoughts/ Geass) which is of course in the original dimension (the Altar of God’s where Charles resides). Leaving this paradox behind, we learn that when a dieing young C.C. first gets her Geass, her only wish is to be loved by others. However…

...such is the cruel fate of Geass users...

...such is the cruel fate of Geass users...

…that their paths lead them only to loneliness. It was because of her Geass that C.C. never found true love throughout the centuries that she has lived. This explains her partial indifference to many of the things that happen around Lelouch and his feelings. In the end though, what she really wanted was not death but love. And now it’s Lelouch’s turn to save C.C. So what can Lelouch do, being stuck in multi-inter-dimensions between and immortal enemy and someone who’s trying to sacrifice herself for his sake? Why, do the most logical thing of course! Which is to…

...blow shit up!

...blow shit up!

Taking advantage of all the commotion, he takes C.C. and hauls ass back to the destroyed research facility. So now that things seem ok for the moment and C.C. regains consciousness, he tells her that the rescue team is on it’s way. At this point C.C. is like…

...lol, wut?!

...lol, wut?!

Turns out that inbetween visiting muti-inter-dimensions, Lelouch going into her memories and being rescued from shit being blown up and getting killed, C.C. has apparently lost her memories. She asks Lelouch whether he’s her new master and informs him that she’s very proficient in cleaning, tending cattle, cooking and can even count up to 20! Now that’s one hell of a servant!

And on that mind blowing plot twist…

...see you next week!

...see you next week!
