Code Geass R2 Ep 22

After last week’s overdosage of pwnage, things move at a rather comfortable pace. Not.

We start with a news report, showing Lelouch’s first actions which pretty much included destroying Royal families all over Britannia. Next, the Order of the Back Stabbers Black Knights wondering what to do, now that Lelouch appears to be the “good guy”. Also, Lelouch continues his latest trend of making more…

...slaves.

...slaves.

A rather peaceful scene follows after the Op, showing Lelouch and Suzaku planning their next moves Britannia’s future at a nice lakeside. The conversation is interrupted when Lelouch is informed that the entire Knights of Rounds came out of nowhere and suddenly decided to retaliate him. Sending his trump card with the…

...hyper-new and uber-improved 'Lancelot Albion'...

...hyper-new and uber-improved 'Lancelot Albion'...

… Lelouch broadcasts the entire show fight to the public. Suzaku literally annihilates all the Knight’s of Rounds with little difficulty. Although the Knight of One did pose a little issue, he too was swatted aside fast enough.

Taking this opportunity, Lelouch further announces that Britannia would like to participate in the United Federation of Nations, with good old Ashford Academy…

...as the meeting ground.

...as the meeting ground.

At Ashford academy, Lelouch finally comes face to face with Kallen, and drama ensues. Suffice to say the dialogue was…

...interesting.

...interesting.

At the meeting itself, where representatives from different countries are gathered, for some inexplicable reason, Kaguya seems to be in charge. Surrounding Lelouch with a wall (Geass countermeasures), she then confronts him to his real purpose. Considering that in the UFN, the voting power of countries is decided by their size, and China recently being divided, Britannia (ie Lelouch) will be the one with the most authority. So, the order of the Black Knights saw through his plan then.

Not quite. Suzaku comes to the rescue crashes the party, resulting in Lelouch…

...forcing his way into...

...forcing his way into...

…the United Federation of Nations. Lest they all want to taste the weaponry on the Lancelot.

Things seem to be going smoothly (and according to the real ‘secret’ plan) for Lelouch, when Schniezel rains on his parade by blowing up a FLEIA warhead on the Imperial Capital city (?) Apprently, all the FLEIA warheads are belong to Schniezel. Also…

...Nunnally is still alive and hates Lelouch & Suzaku.

...Nunnally is still alive and hates Lelouch & Suzaku.

Shocked?

Shocked?

You should get used to it by now. Sunrise is the master of resurrection, remember Mai Hime?

Time for my two cents. I believe that Lelouch is Geassing soldiers into slavery so he can have an army big enough to conquer the world. So, he’s a bastard after all eh!? No. Like everything that has happened in Code Geass to date, these seemingly ‘evil’ means are justifications for the ‘good’ end. And unlike his parents, Lelouch will not force mind controlling emotions onto people for a happy world. He knows that perhaps the world can never be a happy place, but perhaps by being united (under dictatorship) there will be no wars. The hole in this plan would then be the rebellions popping up all over the place to overthrow Lelouch himself so that democracy can be maintained. Geass, however, will take care of that small issue. Then what makes Lelouch any different from any dictator in history? Fuck if I know! First off, his intentions were are good. He’s been through hell along his journey for a better world. Now the only surviving member of his family, and his raison d’etre so to speak, is against him. Oh yeah, his elder brother and sister too, but that’s beside the point.

Ultimately, he got back Suzaku to support him, C.C. to sex him up and Nina for the nuclear arsenal. And that folks, is all you need at the end of the day for world domination.
