GAMES 08 – Games Alliance

I don’t remember discussing this with the world yet, but there’s a lot of hype going around what could probably be one of the most GENUINE and LARGEST game conventions that the Middle East has ever seen. GAMES ALLIANCE MIDDLE EAST SHOW 2008 or GAMES08 for short is being totted as a one of a kind event where, likewise the name, all the major distribution houses and first party companies are coming together to create a platform for a convention.

We at de-culture would obviously be there to cover the event, play some exclusive games, listen to some keynotes, hog A LOT of free food and probably just laze around; oh yeah and post some news once we get our lazy asses to it. Press Release about the event after the JUMP … HAAALAAA!!!

Major Players Host GAMES 2008

Dubai, UAE – 14 August 2008 – In a move that is being hailed by the region’s gamers and technology industry, a number of the biggest players on the global and Middle East stage have come together to found GAMES (Games Alliance Middle East Show).

Dedicated to providing both a platform to discuss global developments as well as the must attend event for gaming fans in the Middle East, GAMES will showcase all the latest and greatest that the video game industry has to offer.

The Middle East population tops 200 million, and with half of that population young and gaming crazy, this gaming-only event, will let people who share a passion for gaming try out all the upcoming titles, as well as meeting the people who created them.

The morning of the 18th is also reserved for the gaming industry when PlayStation Division, Sony Gulf and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will each hold a trade presentation.

GAMES will open to the public on the evening of the 18th, from 6pm until late, and gamers will have the chance to try out never-before seen titles from the leading publishers in the industry.
