Hear them winds of change…
So, it seems that the rumors were true after all. Things completely changed after Ed’s encounter with Greed for the first time. It was Hohenheim the father of the Homunculi who killed Greed, instead of Ed.
The episode was close to the original series, in that Fuhrer Bradley reveals himself as Wrath, an aging Homunculus, and kills Greed’s pals. And yes, Martel does indeed get sliced inside Al. The other major difference is that once Izumi is back safe from the Devil’s Nest, King Bradley pays her a vists, and asks whether she would join the military as a State Alchemist; to which she refuses, of course, stating herself as just a simple housewife.
Greed is taken to the main HQ (?) of the Homunculi and their creater, whom they all refer to as ‘father’. Now in the original series, Dante was their creator. Or atleast the one who took them under, given the technical nature under which Homunculi are born, no one person can truly be the father or mother of them all. The tricky thing in Brotherhood was that their ‘father’, whose face they never fully reveal, looked like Hohenheim, Ed and Al’s dad. Perhaps a disguise by Dante? I mean, this ‘father’ person sounded more like a schemeing old man rather than an authoritative, yet kind person, as was Ed and Al’s real dad. Whatever, I could read the manga to find out, but then the anime wouldn’t be any fun at all.
The preview for next week shows comepletely new stuff! And with that exciting news…
Just one suggestion: forget everything you learned from the first tv series. The nature of the homunculi and Father in the manga is completely different.
Thanks for the info 🙂 And God I hope father doesn’t turn out to be Hohenheim!
Dante never existed in the Manga.
