Bleach Episode 193 Review

Szayel Aporro loves playing with dolls!

Bleach returns this week with Ishida and Renji fighting their clones. They destroy their clones, only to see that they multiply every time one is destroyed. This begins to frustrate the two as it feels like there is no end to their battles. Ishida then reveals the differences between them and the clones he had noticed.

Renji says that the place is too small for them to fight and they should try and take it outside. He then releases his bankai, which suprises Ishida as the clones would also copy and release their bankai, which would lead to the building collapsing.

Renji then gets up from under the rocks, so does Ishida and the others. Szayel Aporro, who had survived the crash, disperses the clones and decides to fight both of them himself. He goes on to say that he will now show Fornicaras’ true power. Before he starts his attack, Ishida at once begins attacking, leaving him no time to prepare his second attack. Ishida is then cornered and captured by Szayel.

Renji tries to break through, but the attack was futile. Ishida is released, leaving him weakened. Szayel’s second ability is then revealed. He is able to create voodoo dolls of an opponent by wrapping them in his wings. He shows that by using these dolls, he can inflict great pain to the targets and damage their internal organs.

Renji tries to attack Szayel, after he crushes Ishida’s stomach, but is also captured by his attack. Meanwhile, Nnoitra is still losing to Neliel, but they hesitate before they can deal each other fatal blows. Nnoitra reveals that he despised Neliel even before her departure.

Summarizing the review, this episode was one of the few interesting episodes of Ishida and Renji’s battle against Szayel Aporro. This fight was shown in bits and pieces before this episode and was not really up-to-the-mark expected. However, this time around the fight progressed quickly and quite a bit of plot had advanced. This is nice to see especially after the last few episodes, where the plot was advancing at a snail’s pace. Some nice attacks were revealed and Szayel Aporro’s ability is pretty damn cool.

Animation quality was great, presenting nice, fluid scenes, which helped increasing the intensity of this episode. The opening and ending themes remain the same.

And on that note,

See you next, deculture!
