Bleach Episode 192 Review

Nel’s True Form.

Bleach returns this episode with Nel’s past of being a former Espada revealed by Nnoitra. Nnoitra tries to poison Ichigo’s mind by telling them that Nel decieved and used them to get into Las Noches, but Nel doesn’t agree. As Nnoitra is about to crush Nel’s head, Ichigo saves her and says that he only believes the Nel that is before them and doesn’t bother with her past.

The fight between Nnoitra and Ichigo gets serious, but Nnoitra brutally throws Ichigo out of the way each time he attempts to stop him. Ichigo keeps getting back up, only to protect Nel. Nnoitra’s moves get more aggressive until he begins to break Ichigo’s arm. The intensity of Nel’s emotions then unleash an unintentional transformation to her original adult form.

Elsewhere, Uryū, Renji, Pesche and Dondochakka are startled by Nel’s new reiatsu. Dondochakka and Pesche reveal that they have been a support for Nel for a long time as they feel her reiatsu to be nostalgic. Ichigo and Orihime are suprised to see Nel in this form. Nel then begins to fight with Nnoitra, as a notion of gratitude to Ichigo for helping and protecting her so far. Nel then reveals that she has the rank of the former 3rd Espada.

The fight between Nel and Nnoitra begin, only to see that Nel actually has the upper hand and is far more powerful and skilled than Nnoitra. The over-courageous Nnoitra then gets brutally wounded by Nel. Nnoitra unleashes a “Cero” upon Nel which she easily sucks up, then combines it with her own Cero and fires at Nnoitra, a technique called “Cero Doble” which she used in a previous episode.

Tesla then runs to aid Nnoitora leaving Orihime. Believing it is safe, Nel shows that her personality has not changed by hugging Ichigo to the point of having him momentarily pass out. Out of the dust, a standing Nnoitra surprises Nel after he throws Tesla to the ground. Nnoitra then reveals with a smirk that Nel was only 3rd Espada years ago, and that the ranks have changed. The episode then ends on the brink of the second fight of Nnoitra against Nel.

Summarizing the review, this episode was one of the most epic episodes since the Hueco Mundo arc has begun. Revealing character backgrounds, epic fights and ofcourse, a bit of comedy, it was all present. The first half of the episode, that is before the entry of Nel, felt a bit dragged and was getting a bit boring. But as soon as Nel appeared, it was all out epic. The plot advanced pretty quickly and served its purpose.

Animation quality was brilliant, with fluid animation supporting the fights between Nnoitra and Ichigo and Nel. Nel’s character had been crafted beautifully. The music was epic as always. The opening and ending theme remains the same.

And on that note,

See you next, deculture!
