Mustang acted smart (as usual) and didn’t give into the gold toothed doctors plans. Instead he got help from his chimera buddies, one of whom scooped the doc up into the ceiling. Soon the rest of the gang overcomes the other King Bradley project rejects. Doesn’t really matter though, as the real King Bradley shows up to rain on their parade along with Pride, who forces a Human Transmutation using the doc and Mustang. He ends up being the 5th sacrifice after all, losing his vision at the gate. Scar and King Bradley face off, creating an explosion big enough for May to fall downstairs with the other 5. Meanwhile Al gets to see his body in front of the Gate, but refuses to take it as he needs the strength of the armour to help fight with the others and overcome Father. Now the stage is set for the final battle, kekeke!
First off, sucks to be Roy Mustang right now. He tried his best, but fate, or rather the son of bitch (see what I did there?!) Homunculi had other plans for him. Also, it was interesting that all 5 of these people had lost that part of their body which was most important to them to help realise their dreams.
Also, sucks to be both the Als. The real one in the armour got so close to his body, yet so far in that he has to go back and help out the others. The fake Al saw Ed way back when, who promised to get him back. And now when his soul finally came back, even then he was promised to be rescued again, leaving him at the Gate again.
The episode wasn’t heavy on exposition, neither were any real discoveries made, which left me feeling devoid of any real emotion in the end. It appears as though Bones wanted to stretch out this episode as much as possible to have better filling in the last 4 episodes. And once again, King Bradley is still alive…
